The Queen of the Missions Park Circus Alumnae
The QMS Alumnae was started in the year 1993 by Sister Smitha Thomas, former Principal, Our Lady Queen of The Missions School, Park Circus and a few dedicated past pupils, namely Muneera Currim, Fatima Rashid, Afroza Mowla, Harvinder Kaur and Prema Majumdar.
This was a small step towards a larger goal which was to make a mark in the social community and to give back a little of what the school has given to its students.
The initial interaction took the form of Annual get-togethers of the Alumnae members, and for the 50 years of the founding of the school with a grand reunion was organised by by the Alumnae; which was attended by the Sisters from as far away as New Zealand, and past pupils from all over the globe.
Alumnae also meet up informally where ever they are geographically located, to share, relive memories and spread the spirit of their school. You will be suprised to find QMSers almost every place you go!
Besides the Alumnae provides sponsorship to a few underprivileged students. Blood donation camps and Hepatitis B camps have also been held. Large numbers have availed of the eye camps conducted by the Alumnae where spectacles were provided free along with cataract operations for those in need. Mother Aime's Homeopathic Clinic was revived as an allopathic dispensary, called Little Flower. Dr Shanaz Latif and Dr Masuma, both Alumnae have been giving their valuable time towards this. Dr N Siddique had also been given services as a Gynaecologist for some years, too.
Keep track of our activities in the News blog - and if you're leaving school, remember to join us and give back to our school and to society, through it!
